Red Diner
The Red Diner offers affordable and tasty light meals, snacks and drinks for purchase. Limited special dietary light meals are available (please request when you make your booking). The Diner is fully licensed. Snacks and light meals are also available for purchase throughout the day.


Luggage
Due to space constraints, guests may only take on board hand luggage required for their journey. All other luggage must be checked-in. Guests are permitted to check-in a maximum 40kg luggage free of charge (2 items not exceeding 20kg each).
Note: Checked-in luggage cannot be accessed during the journey.

Superior Cabin
Ideal for guests seeking a little extra style, space and comfort. The Superior Cabin is twice the size of a Gold Twin Cabin and offers a small double bed plus additional fold down single bed. Extra features include a private lounge area with table, arm chairs, a DVD player plus a selection of titles, toiletries, complimentary chocolates, fruit bowl, plunger coffee, a bar-fridge stocked with complimentary refreshments, reserved seating at dinner or optional room service for meals and a complimentary bottle of wine with dinner.

Availability is limited so advance bookings are essential.
A surcharge applies for the Superior Cabin:
$795 per cabin per night (valid 1.4.09 to 31.3.10)

Dining
Gold Service guests aboard the Indian Pacific dine in the elegant Restaurant Car. All meals are included in the Gold Service fare. The enjoyment of fine food and wine combined with views across this vast, beautiful continent is an unrivalled experience.

Sample selections from our superb menus served to your table. The menus will feature a blend of Australian and International cuisine, cooked to perfection by our own on-board chefs. Quality wines and beverages are available for purchase. Vegetarian, children's and some special dietary meals can be accommodated - please request these when you make your booking. Note: breakfast packs will be delivered to cabins on some services to cater for early morning destination arrivals and off-train tour requirements.

Lounge
The Gold Lounge is often the centre of activity for any journey. The cosy, club-like setting is an excellent place to socialise or sit back and enjoy the passing parade of Australian landscapes. The Lounge has a licensed bar and is the ideal place to gather for a drink before dinner or for a game of cards and a nightcap with new friends.

Prince of Wales Carriage
The historic Prince of Wales Carriage was originally built in 1919 to accommodate a royal visit from Edward, Prince of Wales. This
beautifully crafted timber carriage was recently refurbished and maintains many original features, including high ceilings of Wunderlich pressed metal and cathedral glass doors.

  • 4 Twin Cabins and 2 large single cabins which comprise to form the Mountbatten Suite
  • Lounge featuring ornate wood carvings

Governor's Lounge
The Governor's Lounge is the sister carriage to the Prince of Wales Carriage. This timber carriage was constructed in 1917 for the official opening of the Trans Australian Railway.

Sir John Forrest Carriage
The Sir John Forrest Carriage is named after the explorer made famous for the first crossing of Western Australia by land in 1870. Follow in his footsteps across the Nullarbor Plain, travelling in the comfort of this modern carriage.
